  2. Candy coating (Wilton Candy Melts®: Blue or Aqua)
  3. Fine iridescent sanding sugar, blue sanding sugar and edible gold star glitter (optional to add sparkle to your narwhal party treats)
  4. Candy eyeballs
  5. Pink jumbo confetti sprinkles (for cheeks). Or cut out small circular shapes from pink fondant.
  6. Gold star sprinkles (for buttons)
  7. Blue Raspberry Drops gummy candies and wooden toothpicks (for fins)

NARWHAL TWINKIES INSTRUCTIONS:

With your ingredients ready to go, it’s time to dive deep into the kitchen and make a pod of these super adorable narwhal Twinkie party treats!

  1. To make the Twinkies easier to work with, freeze them for about 10-15 minutes or until firm. Line a cookie sheet with parchment (or wax) paper.
  1. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, microwave the candy coating (in a microwave safe bowl) in 30-second intervals stirring each time until the candy is mostly melted. Continue melting and stirring until completely smooth. Dip each Twinkie into the bowl of melted candy coating so it's completely covered. Remove the Twinkies with a fork then set them on the parchment lined cookie sheet to harden.
  1. If desired, sprinkle the narwhal party treats with the sanding sugars and edible gold star glitter (for extra sparkle).
  1. Add the two candy eyeballs and the two confetti sprinkles (or pink fondant) for the cheeks. Then add the three gold star sprinkles for the buttons. Repeat for each narwhal Twinkie party treat.
  1. Refrigerate the narwhal treats for about 10-15 minutes or until the candy coating hardens.

  1. To make the narwhal Twinkie fins, cut the wooden toothpicks so they are about 1-1/4” in length. Insert the pointed end of the toothpick into the bottom flat side of the blue gummy candies. Then insert the two fins into each of the narwhal Twinkie treats.
  1. Insert a gold candle into the top of each narwhal Twinkie treat for the tusk. What a fun way to make a sweet narwhal birthday party wish! (SAFETY FIRST: Please remember that candles should only be used under the direct guidance and supervision of an adult). As an alternative to the candles, you can make edible tusks for your narwhal Twinkie treats by rolling pieces of fondant (or soft Starburst candies, caramels or taffy) into a horn/tusk shape.

This cute-as-can-be narwhal Twinkie trio is ready to party!
